Teacher Preparation Department Chair Toni Howard attended the inaugural meeting of SUNY Community College Teacher Education Faculty and Leadership at SUNY Plaza earlier this week.
Nearly 40 participants attended from 25 community colleges, and the gathering also saw representatives from the National Association for Community College Teacher Education Programs, the New York State Education Department, the Faculty Council for Community Colleges and SUNY System Administration. The meeting included a welcome from SUNY Provost Tod Laursen.
This was the first time representatives from community colleges had an open forum with SUNY Central staff to discuss things such as credentialing, articulations, pathways, as well as K-12 bridges to community colleges.
